Cast iron ball valves and cast steel ball valves are valves made of two different materials, and there are some differences in material, performance and use.
1. Material:
Cast iron ball valves are made of cast iron materials, while cast steel ball valves are made of cast steel materials. Cast iron has good corrosion resistance, but in comparison, cast steel has more strength and hardness, so it is more commonly used in high pressure, high temperature and corrosive environments.
2. Strength and pressure resistance:
The strength and pressure resistance of cast iron ball valves are relatively low, and they are often used in low pressure and medium and low temperature environments; while cast steel ball valves have higher strength and pressure resistance, and are suitable for high pressure and high temperature environments.
3. Corrosion resistance:
The corrosion resistance of cast iron ball valves is relatively good, and they can be used in some common corrosive media, such as water, oil, gas, etc.; while cast steel ball valves have better corrosion resistance in corrosive media, and can be used in more severe environments such as acid, alkali, ammonia, and liquid ammonia.
4. Price:
Generally speaking, the price of cast iron ball valves is relatively low, while the price of cast steel ball valves is higher.
In general, cast iron ball valves are suitable for low-pressure, low-temperature, general medium pipeline systems, and their prices are relatively low; while cast steel ball valves are suitable for high-pressure, high-temperature, corrosive medium pipeline systems, and their prices are relatively high. The specific choice should be determined based on actual conditions.
