Overview of stainless steel globe valve:
The stem axis of the stainless steel globe valve is perpendicular to the sealing surface of the valve seat. The relatively short opening and closing stroke of the valve stem and the highly reliable shut-off operation make this valve ideal for medium shut-off or regulation and throttling.
When the valve of the stainless steel globe valve is opened, the valve seat has no contact with the sealing surface of the valve, which has a very reliable blocking effect. This type of valve is great for cutting. Or adjust the media. and use the throttle. This type of valve usually needs to be installed horizontally in the pipeline.
Once the stainless steel globe valve is in the open state, there is no more contact between its seat and the sealing surface of the disc, so its sealing surface has less mechanical wear. There is no need to remove the entire valve from the pipeline when servicing or replacing sealing elements. This works great when the valve and pipe are welded together. The flow resistance of the stainless steel globe valve is larger than that of other valves due to the change in the flow direction of the medium flowing through this type of valve.
Features of stainless steel globe valve:
(1) The structure is simpler than that of the gate valve, and the manufacture and maintenance are more convenient.
(2) The sealing surface is not easy to be worn and scratched, and the sealing performance is good. There is no relative sliding between the valve disc and the sealing surface of the valve body when opening and closing, so the wear and abrasion are not serious, the sealing performance is good, and the service life is long.
(3) When opening and closing, the valve flap travel is small, so the height of the stainless steel globe valve is smaller than that of the gate valve, but the structural length is longer than that of the gate valve.
(4) The opening and closing torque is large, the opening and closing is laborious, and the opening and closing time is long.
(5) The fluid resistance is large, because the medium channel in the valve body is tortuous, the fluid resistance is large, and the power consumption is large.
(6) The flow direction of the medium When the nominal pressure PN≤16MPa, the forward flow is generally adopted, and the medium flows upward from the bottom of the valve disc; when the nominal pressure PN≥20MPa, the countercurrent flow is generally adopted, and the medium flows downward from the top of the valve disc. to increase seal performance. When in use, the medium of the stainless steel globe valve can only flow in one direction and cannot change the flow direction.
(7) The valve disc is often eroded when fully open.
